What is Friends of Strong?

We're a dynamic volunteer organization advancing the mission of Strong Memorial Hospital by:Friends of Strong informational brochure PDF for download and print.

  • Enhancing the health care experience for patients, families and visitors throughout Strong Memorial Hospital and at many of our offsite clinic locations
  • Promoting the hospital throughout our community
  • Raising money to support patient care programs and initiatives

Get Involved

We invite you to help us support and serve our patients, families and visitors.

There are many ways you can join us in fulfilling our mission—from assisting in our Family Waiting Room, to working with patients directly at one of our offsite clinic locations, or simply attending or helping to organize one of our many fundraising events.

Our volunteers, supporters and employees are wonderful people who truly—and meaningfully—make a difference in patients' lives. We take the opportunity to boast about them whenever we can.

Please peruse our website for more information about our programs, volunteer opportunities or how to donate to Friends of Strong Memorial Hospital. Feel free to call our office at (585) 275-2420 or email us at fos@urmc.rochester.edu with any additional questions you may have or click on the brochure image above for a downloadable pdf.

Every day. Every year. Every purchase you make at the Friends of Strong Gift Shop, Finger Lakes Coffee Roasters, and other Friends of Strong fundraising events helps support patient- and family-centered care initiatives at Strong. Since 1975, Friends of Strong has given more than $20 million to departments and programs throughout UR Medicine's Strong Memorial Hospital.
