How to Apply

Any applicants who are interested applying to our program should access the SSO Breast Match website to register and submit their application as soon as possible. The deadline for submitting applications to programs participating in the 2026 SSO Breast Match is January 2026.

During the application process the NMS Match System will request personal information, academic history, examination scores, personal statements, and CVs. Applicants will also request letters of reference through the NMS Match System, and reference writers will upload their letters to programs through the NMS Match System.

We do not require a minimum USMLE score, although all scores must be passing. There is no requirement regarding length of time since medical school graduation.

Requirements:

• Completed application through SSO Breast Match website

• Three letters of recommendation: one from the department chair or your General Surgery Program Director; the others should come from your program faculty members.

• USMLE scores
• ABSITE scores
• Personal Statement
• Current CV or resume

We use email to communicate with applicants, including invitations for interviews. It is critical that applicants check their email frequently during the application period.
