The Alzheimer’s Project – Presented by HBO and NIA
In 2009, the National Institute on Aging partnered with HBO to create a documentary on Alzheimer's Disease (AD). The documentary series and corresponding website explore current research in the science of AD and examine many of the challenges AD brings to patients, caregivers, and communities.
Alzheimer’s Association – Rochester Chapter—The Rochester, NY Chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association provides resources and services specific to the greater Rochester community and surrounding counties. Their website offers information about AD and coping with the disease in addition to presenting information regarding support for patient care and caregivers, educational programs, and opportunities for advocacy and volunteering.
Lifespan - Lifespan is a Rochester, NY local agency that provides information, guidance, and services for older adults and caregivers. They have various educational programming onsite and online.
Alzheimer’s Disease Cooperative Study (ADCS)—This link provides an overview of the ADCS, a collaborative effort developed by the National Institute of Aging and the University of California San Diego to investigate the potential usefulness of drugs not developed by industry for the treatment of AD. Descriptions of past and present studies conducted by the ADCS are available on this site.
Alzheimer’s Association – National Site—This site contains information and resources provided by the Alzheimer’s Association, the most prominent voluntary health organization in AD care, research, and support.
