Vaccinations

It’s exciting to have vaccines for COVID-19 becoming available.  If you have the option of obtaining a vaccine around the time of surgery, please notify your surgeon/proceduralist so that they are aware. 

The COVID-19 vaccines will NOT cause your COVID-PCR test to become positive, however your surgeon/proceduralist will still want to know if you’re receiving a vaccine close to your surgery or procedure. 

Receiving a COVID-19 vaccine does not alter the NYS requirement that you are tested prior to a procedure/surgery.  Receiving a covid-19 vaccine also does not change the requirement that you always mask while in public, wash your hands often and keep 6 feet socially distanced.
