Patient Story - Gabe

In February 2018, Batavia resident Gabe Abdella was diagnosed with a tumor in the area of his brain responsible for language and movement. Abdella—an avid hiker and ADK 46er—was treated by UR Medicine neurosurgeons and neuroscientists who created a detailed map of his brain to guide his surgery and protect important parts of his brain. Six months after surgery, Gabe completed a half marathon up Pikes Peak in Colorado and is planning for future adventures.
