Regional Data

The data below summarizes COVID-19 vaccination progress across the nine-county Finger Lakes region as of October 6, 2022. These maps and charts show the first dose and overall vaccination rates among eligible residents (6 months or older) broken down by county, gender, age group, and vaccine type. Use the provided menu filters to adjust the displayed data or hover over a value to display additional context and details. Please note that, due to the inclusion of 6 months - 5 years old, the vaccination coverage percentages shown will be lower than historic totals. Please note: These data will no longer be updated.

Finger Lakes Weekly COVID-19 Vaccine Rates

The visualization below summarizes weekly vaccine distribution progress among residents 5 years of age or older, for counties in the New York Finger Lakes region. The figures for each week convey the number of newly added people and percentage of the eligible population having received "At Least One Dose" or a "Complete Series" of COVID vaccine. Please use the header menus to select a county and time range of interest and/or hover on the plot to reveal added context and detail.

Finger Lakes Region COVID-19 Vaccination by Race and Ethnicity

This chart shows the percentage of people who identify as a particular race and ethnicity and who have received COVID-19 vaccination, for all vaccinated residents across the nine-county Finger Lakes Region.

Vaccine administration data was obtained through the Greater Rochester RHIO from New York State’s NYSIIS. Population estimates were derived at the ZIP code level from US Census figures by Common Ground Health.

The percentages indicate percent of individuals within each race and ethnicity category, who have been vaccinated. For example, the percent of Hispanic individuals who have been vaccinated is 77.8%, while the percent of non-Hispanic individuals who have been vaccinated is 71.1%. The overall numbers on the right indicate the total number of individuals in each race and ethnicity category in the Finger Lakes Region.

The race categories shown below represent the recipient’s response at the time of administration. The "Other" group includes recipients selecting "Other," "Pacific Islander," "Hawaiian Native," or "Alaskan Native." Since population figures group multi-racial recipients differently, the numerator for the other group may appear artificially elevated.

Data from RocHealthData

Our partners at RocHealthData have added vaccination rates by census tract for the City of Rochester.

A COVID-19 vaccination rates page on the site highlights the number of persons and percent of the population with at least one dose of vaccine. An interactive map contains other census-tract level data, including the Social Vulnerability Index.

Individuals with Missed Second Doses

These are individuals who received a first dose of the Moderna or Pfizer vaccine, but did not receive a second dose for more than six weeks following their first dose.

Across the Finger Lakes Region, more people are missing second doses of the two-dose Moderna and Pfizer vaccines than earlier in the year. As of Nov. 25, 2021, these individuals account for 7.6% of all people with at least one dose of vaccine (not including those who received Johnson & Johnson), compared to 3% in April 2021.

However, the rate of missed second doses in the Finger Lakes Region is lower than the national average, which was 11% as of July 2, 2021, the most recent data available.

Frequently Asked Questions

The dashboard uses data from the New York State Immunization Information System (NYSIIS) that is refined by the Rochester RHIO and the Finger Lakes COVID-19 Vaccine Hub.

Data in the dashboard will be updated every two weeks.

The Finger Lakes COVID-19 Vaccine Hub dashboard uses data from the New York State Immunization Information System (NYSIIS) that has been "cleaned" by the Rochester Regional Health Information Organization(RHIO) and the Finger Lakes COVID-19 Vaccine Hub. In other words, the Vaccine Hub and the RHIO analyzed the data, and removed or corrected incorrect, corrupted, duplicate and incomplete data, to produce an accurate picture of the local vaccination effort.

In addition, the Hub tracker bases figures on the eligible population aged 5 and older.

The New York State COVID-19 Vaccine Tracker bases its figures on the total population, not the eligible population. It uses NYSIIS data that has not been refined by the Hub and the RHIO.
