Overview

Birthing with Confidence are FREE live, online childbirth education sessions for pregnant patients. Sessions will help you get ready for labor, delivery, parenthood, and help you decide what is important to you during this special time. 

Sessions are available to patients who receive prenatal care at a UR Medicine OBGYN office and are at least 20 weeks pregnant. Partners are welcome.

Birthing with Confidence

Session 1: January 9 — February 13 | Thursdays at 6:00 – 7:30 p.m.

Session 2: March 6 — April 10 | Thursdays at 6:00 – 7:30 p.m.

Session 3: May 1 — June 5 | Thursdays at 6:00 – 7:30 p.m.

Session 4: July 10 — August 14 | Thursdays at 6:00 – 7:30 p.m.

Session 5: August 28 — October 2 | Thursdays at 6:00 – 7:30 p.m.

Session 6: October 16 — November 20 | Thursdays at 6:00 – 7:30 p.m.

What to Expect from the Birthing With Confidence

Classes

Birthing with Confidence (URBWC) classes are live, online, via Zoom. You will talk and learn about:

  • Changes in late pregnancy
  • Getting ready for labor, delivery, and your hospital stay
  • Doula support
  • Newborn care
  • Breastfeeding
  • Postpartum care
  • Life after baby
  • Intimate relationships
  • Community resources

We provide care together with treatments prescribed by your OB/GYN doctor, nurse practitioner, physician’s assistant or midwife. We welcome all patients, including LGBTQ+.
