A Notice to Patients: Coronavirus (COVID-19)
We are closely monitoring an outbreak of a 2019 novel coronavirus (COVID-19) and kindly ask that all patients note the advisories below.
Eastman Dental (including its locations at Elmwood Avenue, School 17, downtown in the Sibley Building, Complex Care Center, its Smilemobiles), as well as the University Dental Faculty Group, and Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery, will be rescheduling elective patient care. You will be contacted by a member of our team if your appointment will need to be rescheduled.

Please note that Eastman Dental Downtown, located at 25 Franklin Street, Rochester, NY 14604, and Eastman Dental at School 17, 158 Orchard Street, 14611 are closed. Other locations--625 Elmwood Avenue, Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery located at Strong Memorial Hospital, and the University Dental Faculty Group will remain open for urgent and emergency dental care during its usual hours of operation. Please check back regularly for updates.
Please note, in an effort to help keep everyone safe, patients will be pre-screened upon arrival to assess travel history, flu-like symptoms, and exposure to anyone with COVID-19.
We have revised our visitor policies for all of our locations in order to keep our patients, families and staff safe. While we understand the important role that family members and visitors play in a patient’s healing process, our goal is to keep a safe environment for all. Thank you for your understanding and patience.
- As of March 16, visitors are not allowed to accompany patients in the treatment room until further notice.
- Exceptions will be made for pediatric patients and others requiring an aide or additional assistance.
- Any visitor who is coughing or shows other signs of illness will kindly be asked to leave.
