Speech-Language Pathology Clinical Fellowship Program

The University of Rochester Medical Center Speech Pathology Department is pleased to announce four distinct 1-year clinical fellowships across inpatient and outpatient settings.

UR Medicine –Strong Memorial Hospital is a leading academic medical center located in Rochester, NY between Lake Ontario and the Finger Lakes region. As a Level 1 Trauma Center and Comprehensive Stroke Center, Strong Memorial Hospital offers nearly 900 acute care beds and continues to expand. We have an in-house 31-bed CARF and Magnet accredited inpatient rehabilitation facility that specializes in acquired brain injury and spinal cord injury. Out outpatient clinics include a dedicated Voice Center (voice, swallowing and upper airway disorders) and a team focused on neurorehabilitation. As a teaching
hospital, we prioritize interdisciplinary collaboration and patient-centered care. Our clinical fellowship program provides motivated and committed early career clinicians excellent opportunities for professional development and clinical variety.

Each of the four fellowships has its own call for applications which can be found below. Interested applicants should read each carefully and, if there are any remaining questions, can reach out to Dr. Erin Reedy, Assistant Director of Speech Pathology at URMC (erin_reedy@urmc.rochester.edu).

Applications will open December 1st, 2025.

As announced with limited exceptions, the University is requiring all faculty and staff to be vaccinated against COVID-19.

Candidates who wish to apply for more than one position should send separate applications, as each position is chosen by a different selection committee.  Please tailor your application to the guidelines specified for the position.

Our Clinical Fellowship Program is intensive and a firm 12-month commitment is expected. Fellows may be required to work weekends and holidays, depending on a specialty area and coverage required.  Start dates vary based on the individual clinical fellowship position.  Each fellow will participate in a multidisciplinary team model using a patient centered approach. Fellows are expected to work closely with their fellowship supervisor to direct and self-reflect on their learning and skills throughout the process.
