The Advanced Histotechnology Certificate Program
Program Mission
Graduates of this program will meet the New York State requirements to practice
Histotechnology. Histotechnologists are clinical laboratory professionals that perform slide-based histological assays, tests, and procedures, as well as other diagnostic evaluations conducted in a clinical histology laboratory involving the examination of human tissue samples. Students gain expertise in the practice of histotechnology. Students will also participate in management courses to prepare them for leadership roles in the laboratory. Technical Standards/Essential Functions
All candidates for the Advanced Certificate Degree in Clinical/Medical Technology must possess essential skills and abilities necessary to complete the program curriculum successfully either with or without reasonable accommodation for any disabilities the individual may have. Note: The use of an intermediary that would in effect require a student to rely on someone else’s power of selection, detection and observation will not be permitted.
