Program Structure and Timeline

Participating partner institutions in China (ZUSM and SJTUSM) provide the University of Rochester with a list of 1-5 top students, for research training in the areas of Biomedical & Health Sciences.  These students will complete the first two years of their Ph.D. program at their home institution in China, including core coursework and laboratory research. 

Students will then come to the University of Rochester to perform two years of intensive, hands-on research training, in mutually selected laboratories.  At the conclusion of this period, students will return to their home institution in China to complete the requirements for the Ph.D. degree and receive their degree.
