Visiting Students Instructions & Application

In alignment with the January 25, 2021 recommendations of the Coalition for Physician Accountability (subject to change), The University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry will offer on-site visiting student rotations for the 2021-22 academic year starting August 1st.  Visiting rotations will be limited to one 4 week rotation per learner and subject to availability and department approval.

The University of Rochester School of Medicine accepts visiting medical and dental students to participate in electives at our institution.  For final year medical students in good academic standing from LCME accredited medical schools in the U.S., Canada, and students from osteopathic schools, visiting electives are coordinated through the AAMC’s Visiting Student Learning Opportunities/Visiting Student Application Service (VSLO/ VSAS).  Due to the limited number of spots available visiting students may take one 4 week elective at the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry and our affiliated hospitals.  For a description of electives offered at URSMD please visit our website, https://www.urmc.rochester.edu/education/registrar.aspx

Dental students please contact the Medical School Registrar’s Office. If you are an International Visiting Student click here.
