UR Medicine Breast Imaging to Offer Free Mammograms on October 28
Monday, October 16, 2017
In honor of October’s Breast Cancer Awareness Month, UR Medicine Breast Imaging – in conjunction with the Breast Cancer Coalition of Rochester and Cancer Services Program of Monroe County – is offering free annual mammograms to women age 40 and older on Saturday, October 28 from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Highland Breast Imaging at Red Creek.
The event will be held at Calkins Corporate Park, 500 Red Creek Drive, Suite 130 in Henrietta. Appointments are required. To schedule a mammogram, call (585) 487-3304. Transportation is available for those who may need it and financial assistance is available to women with high deductible plans.
Highland Breast Imaging has been offering free mammograms for the past decade and has served hundreds of women who may not have been screened otherwise. Mammography can detect breast cancer that is too small for women to find with a self-exam and early diagnosis is the best weapon in the fight against breast cancer.
Parking is free and refreshments will be provided. Women who cannot make the screening are encouraged to schedule an appointment for a different day by calling (585) 487-3304.
