Highland Among “150 Top Places to Work in Health Care”

Highland Hospital has made the list of “150 Top Places to Work in Healthcare” released by Becker’s Hospital Review. The list highlights hospitals, health systems and healthcare companies that promote diversity within the workforce, employee engagement, and professional growth.

According to Becker's Healthcare, "The organizations featured on this list offer benefits and opportunities for employees to build successful careers above and beyond the average healthcare provider or company; they encourage professional development and promote leadership from within. Many honorees on the list offer substantial wellness and personal benefits to ensure employees strike a positive work/life balance." The only other two organizations recognized from upstate New York were University of Rochester Medical Center and F.F. Thompson, another affiliate of the UR Medicine.

“Highland Hospital has always been known locally as a great place to work and to receive healthcare. We are excited but not surprised that our organization is being recognized at a national level for its positive workforce culture,” said Amy Galiana, Chief Human Resources Officer for Highland Hospital. “This recognition is a testament to the hard work and commitment of all Highland employees, especially through this global pandemic.”

Becker's specifically noted that Highland Hospital fosters "an environment of respect and integrity for staff, patients, and their families." It also pointed to employee benefits, such as the home ownership incentive program in designated neighborhoods and programs that promote career growth and leadership development.
