Upcoming maintenance and repair projects at Highland Hospital
The projects outlined below are essential to preserving the hospital's infrastructure while supporting our mission of safe, high-quality care.
Roof Repair Project- July 20-July 31
The continuation of our roof repair and maintenance project is scheduled from July 20 to July 31. This phase of the project requires a crane across the street from 340-346 Mt. Vernon Avenue.
Safety measures will be in place throughout the project to protect pedestrians and motorists.
-
The crane area will be enclosed with barricades and fencing to prevent pedestrians from entering the restricted work zone.
-
For motorists, Mt. Vernon Avenue will be reduced to one lane in the vicinity of the construction area for the duration of the project. Crew members will be on site to direct traffic while the crane is in operation.
Hospital Projects Impact on Bellevue Drive
Hospital modernization and renovation projects requiring a crane on the southeast side of the hospital campus will begin the week of July 27 and end in January. These construction activities have been scheduled to minimize the presence of construction and crane activity.
-
The crane will be located on Bellevue Drive. It will be positioned in a manner that does not obstruct the private driveway off Bellevue Drive.
-
Construction impact will be minimal.
Rooftop Perimeter Wall Repairs- Beginning August 3
Beginning August 3, the hospital’s rooftop perimeter wall along Mt. Vernon Avenue will be reconstructed, which will also require safety measures for pedestrians and motorists. The work crew will be on site Monday through Friday, from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m.
-
The sidewalk from Highland Hospital’s North Lot entrance to the small parking area on Mt. Vernon Avenue will be an enclosed construction area for a crane and other necessary construction equipment. No pedestrian traffic will be permitted.
-
Depending on the work conducted, Mt. Vernon Avenue will be intermittently reduced to one lane for motorists.
-
Neighbors may hear some occasional saw cutting and jackhammering noises from August 10 to early September.
Please note that this schedule is dependent on the weather. Inclement weather may affect the timing of this work, and weekend work may be necessary.
We are taking every measure to minimize the impact and complete the work as quickly as possible. We apologize for any inconvenience or disruptions you may experience.
We appreciate your continued support as we modernize aging infrastructure and ensure our facilities continue to meet current safety and regulatory standards.
