Welcome to the Leckenby Lab
The Leckenby lab primarily focuses on enhancing the regeneration and preventing the degeneration of the peripheral nervous system. Our research aims to:
- Understand the mechanisms that can be manipulated to prevent scar formation in the injured peripheral nerve to improve outcomes following surgical repair.
- Improving the quality of lives of cancer survivors through the prevention and/or reversal of the symptoms of peripheral neuropathy induced by cancer treatment.
- Improving the outcomes of surgery to treat facial paralysis by developing standardized outcomes reporting.
Our lab takes a collaborative approach to research to maximize the impact of our work. The ultimate goal is to improve the patients we treat by taking the lessons learned from the bench to the bedside.
