Study Rooms on the First Floor

There are six study rooms located on the first floor in the front of the library. All rooms are furnished with tables, chairs and whiteboards. These rooms may be used for individual study or group collaboration. During library operating hours, some rooms may be reserved in advance, while others are available on a first-come, first-served basis. After library operating hours, all study rooms are available on a first-come, first-served basis.

• Henderson Room (1-6223C) 

The room has a wall-mounted monitor and Apple TV connectivity for displaying your laptop or iPad.

Group Study and Recording Room (1-6223B)

The room is equipped with a PC, microphone, speakers, and internet access, making it an ideal space for recording audio or video content, or participating in virtual meetings. It may also be used for individual study or small group collaboration.

The room may be reserved during library operating hours. After operating hours, it is available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Study Rooms in the Stacks

There are five small study rooms located along the outer perimeter of the library stacks. One room is located on the upper stacks level, and four rooms are located on the lower stacks level. Each room is furnished with tables, chairs, and a whiteboard and may be used for either individual study or group collaboration.These rooms are available during library operating hours on a first-come, first served basis and cannot be reserved in advance.

Front Library Area

A variety of seating and table options are available just inside the library's main entrance, providing a comfortable space for studying, meeting, or taking a break. This area is designed to support conversation and collaboration, so talking is welcome and encouraged.

Main Reading Room

This space offers a variety of seating and study options, including lounge chairs, long study tables, individual tables, high-top tables, and straight-back chairs. A cozy fireplace creates a welcoming atmosphere, while ample electrical outlets and USB charging ports support laptops, tablets, and other mobile devices. This area is designated for quiet study.

Reading Room Annex (1-6010)

Located adjacent to the Main Reading Room, the annex features computer workstations and individual study carrels. This bright, light-filled area is a popular destination for quiet study and computing.

Bhagat Classroom (1-6200D)

The Bhagat Classroom is a flexible teaching, meeting, and collaboration space equipped with an 84-inch wall-mounted 4K display. An instructor station includes a Dell PC, HDMI and USB-C connections for laptops, and Apple TV for wireless display from compatible devices.

The classroom is also equipped with two motorized cameras, ceiling speakers, and microphones, making it well suited for hybrid instruction and meetings. Flexible tables and chairs can be easily reconfigured to support a variety of learning, meeting, and data visualization activities.

When not reserved for classes or meetings, the classroom is available for study and collaboration. A schedule of weekly activities can be accessed by scanning the QR code that is posted outside the room.

Study Tables and Carrels in the Stacks

Additional study tables and individual carrels are located throughout the upper level of the stacks and are available on a first-come, first-served basis. The stacks are open during library operating hours.

Atrium

Located just outside the Library's main entrance, the Atrium offers tables, chairs, and lounge seating in a spacious, open corridor. It's a popular space for studying, informal meetings, collaborative work, or enjoying lunch. Overhead skylights provide plenty of natural light.
