Lung Disease Evaluation

Our physicians are specialists in pulmonary medicine and have specific expertise in treating people with a wide range of complex diseases affecting the lungs and breathing, including asthma, bronchiectasis, COPD, cough, lung nodules, lung cancer, pleural diseases, pulmonary hypertension, pulmonary fibrosis, pulmonary embolism, sarcoidosis, and occupational lung diseases.

Your initial visit to our center will include a comprehensive evaluation including a detailed medical history and examination. Lung (pulmonary) function tests are usually performed at the time of, or soon after, the initial visit. Advanced diagnostic testing including chest imaging, cardiac or sleep testing may also be recommended by your pulmonary specialist. We work closely and collaboratively with other specialists to provide care that is multidisciplinary and tailored to our patient’s needs.

While the Mary Parkes Center no longer sees pediatric patients, a full range of expert evaluation and care is available through the specialized Pediatric pulmonary programs at Golisano Children's Hospital for children with respiratory problems.
