Student Phlebotomy Training Program
UR Medicine Labs is pleased to offer a Phlebotomy Certification Course. This program leads to National Certification as a Phlebotomy Technician with the National Healthcareer Association.
About the Course
The first part of the course is composed of 13 lectures on topics that prepare students for success on the NHA certification exam. These 2.5-3 hour lectures occur on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays starting at 9 a.m. Lectures are held in person at UR Medicine Laboratories, 211 Bailey Road, W. Henrietta, NY 14586. (Please note: that as this time, public transportation is not available to this location).
The second part of the course involves hands-on venipuncture training. To meet certification requirements, each student must complete 30 successful venipunctures. Students are asked to encourage family members and friends to act in the role of the "patient" during these exercises. This training occurs at the UR Medicine Labs, 454 East Broad Street, Suite 200, Rochester, NY 14607. (Please note: this location is on an RTS route).
Tuition is $1300 which includes 3 textbooks used in the course: the lecture text, a student workbook and the examination prep book.
