She received undergraduate degrees in nursing at the University of Pittsburgh, and Master of Science and Doctor of Nursing Practice degrees from the University of Rochester. She joined the UR stroke team as a nurse practitioner in 2006, as a clinical nurse practitioner. She assumed the role of Program Coordinator in 2011 and in 2013 led efforts to achieve the hospital’s certification as a Joint Commission/AHA Comprehensive Stroke Center. Ann’s professional interests include stroke care of older adults, transitions of care, interprofessional education, and process improvement. She is an active member of the American Heart Association/American Stroke Association as part of the Cardiovascular and Stroke Nursing Council, and a passionate AHA volunteer. She is also active in the American Association of Neuroscience Nurses, serving as an abstract reviewer for their annual conference and content reviewer for their professional journal.
