Mark Gestring, M.D., F.A.C.S., Professor of Surgery and Emergency Medicine at the University of Rochester Medical Center. He received his medical degree from the New Jersey Medical School. Dr. Gestring completed his surgical training at Brown University and his fellowship training in Trauma and Surgical Critical Care at the University of Pennsylvania.

Dr. Gestring is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons and is certified by the American Board of Surgery and the National Board of Medical Examiners. He is a member of the Eastern Association for the Surgery of Trauma, the Surgical Infection Society, the American Association for the Surgery of Trauma, the Association for Academic Surgery and the Society of Critical Care Medicine. His areas of special interest include trauma, critical care, prehospital care of the injured patient and regional trauma system development.
