Throughout Dr. Panza's career he has gained a detailed understanding of women’s pelvic floor disorders and how to treat them using both conservative and surgical management. He takes a detailed, step-by-step, and if necessary, collaborative approach working with related fields including urology, general gynecology, colorectal surgery, and gastroenterology to treat these issues. He has a strong skill set using a variety of surgical approaches to treat pelvic floor disorders including vaginal, laparoscopic, open, and robotic techniques. He is also very comfortable with therapies for urinary and fecal incontinence including Botox injections, midurethral slings, urethral bulking, and sacral neuromodulation. Dr. Panza's specific clinical interests include pelvic organ prolapse, urinary incontinence (stress and urge), overactive bladder, fistulas, pelvic mesh complications, and interstitial cystitis/painful bladder syndrome. He enjoys teaching and working with fellows, residents, and medical students. His research interests are broad and include quality improvement projects such as enhancement of health care delivery systems, as well as the comparison of surgical techniques and outcomes, the urinary microbiome and how it relates to urinary tract infections, and surgical videos. In his free time he enjoys spending time with his wife, children (8 year-old twins and 1 year old son), and Chihuahua, Jersey. He also enjoy being outdoors, listening to and playing music, and home improvement projects.

Dr. Panza's training started at Saint Barnabas Medical Center in Livingston, NJ where he completed a residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology. He then went on to complete a fellowship in Urogynecology and Reconstructive Pelvic Surgery at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, TN. While there, he also pursued course work in Biostatistics and Biomedical Ethics, earning his fellowship degree with distinction in Biomedical Ethics. This training has given him the experience necessary to treat pelvic floor dysfunction and the research experience to help impact the future of the field. He is board certified and a Fellow of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology in both General Obstetrics and Gynecology as well as Urogynecology and Reconstructive Pelvic Surgery.

Dr. Panza's research interests include surgical outcomes, enhanced recovery pathways, urodynamics, and quality improvement in the field of Urogynecology and Reconstructive Pelvic Surgery as well as other aspects of gynecologic surgery. He has published in various national and international journals on these subjects. Some of his budding research interests include the urinary microbiome and recurrent urinary tract infections.
