Professional Background

Olga Selioutski, DO is an Associate Professor at Strong Epilepsy Center, Department of Neurology, at the University of Rochester Medical Center. Dr. Selioutski received her undergraduate degree from SUNY Stony Brook and medical degree at Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine. Her clinical training included an internship at LECOMT and an adult neurology residency program at UPMC-Hamot in Erie, PA. Upon completion of residency, Dr. Selioutski finished a two year fellowship in epilepsy training at the Strong Epilepsy Center in Rochester, NY. After completing the fellowship, she joined the Department of Neurology at URMC.

Dr. Selioutski is board certified neurologist and holds certifications from the American Board of Clinical Neurophysiology (ABCN) with added competency in Epilepsy Monitoring and Neuro-Intraoperative Monitoring. She is a recipient of numerous awards for academic excellence, research and LECOM ambassador scholarships.

Her academic interests include the application of neurophysiologic modalities for management of epilepsy, with a particular interest in interpretation of continuous EEG monitoring in the critical care setting as well as management of status epilepticus. She is also actively involved in interpretation of evoked potentials and intraoperative monitoring. She continues to participate in several clinical trials entailing the evaluation of medication safety and efficacy in the acute care settings.

In addition to proficiency in English, Dr. Selioutski speaks Russian fluently.

Research

Dr. Selioutski is an Associate Professor at Strong Epilepsy Center, Rochester, NY with primary responsibilities including establishment of continuous EEG (cEEG) monitoring services for the patients with acute brain injury. In addition to providing direct clinical care to the patients with acute brain injury diagnosed with seizures, she have been involved in both industry sponsored and investigator initiated clinical studies in the Neuro-ICU population. Moreover, she has been working closely with the American Clinical Neurophysiology Society on updating EEG guidelines. Dr. Selioutski's primary focus is evaluation of epilepsy development among patients presenting with acute cerebral injury with an overarching goal of improvement of quality of care for the patients with acute brain insults while optimizing their long term outcomes.
