Biography

Dr. Yosha's goal is to provide comprehensive family-centered care for each individual and family he sees. He enjoys watching his young patients grow and continuing to care for them on their journey to adulthood. He loves to help his patients solve their health problems and in turn gain confidence and freedom in other areas of their lives. He sees himself as an advocate for his patients' health needs and as their link to the medical community.

Dr. Yosha is an experienced clinician who is passionate about helping women achieve a healthy and natural childbirth and guiding his patients through the postpartum and newborn period in the context of their entire family. His training allows him to also care for common high risk perinatal conditions including operative obstetrics, as well as providing almost all forms of birth control.

Dr. Yosha loves spending time with his wife and twin daughters, running, and exploring Rochester and its surrounding areas.

Professional Background

Dr. Yosha received his medical degree from Albany Medical College. He completed his Family Medicine training at Columbia University Medical Center in New York City. After a year of working for the Indian Health Service and in rural New Zealand in tandem with his wife, he went on to complete an obstetrical fellowship in Seattle, NY. Dr. Yosha is currently the site medical director of North Ponds Family Medicine & Maternity Care.

Research

Assaf Yosha, MD is a Senior Instructor at the Highland Family Medicine Department. Dr. Yosha attended Albany Medical College and completed his Family Medicine training at NY-Presbyterian-Columbia in New York City in 2005. He then spent a year working in tandem with his wife in rural New Zealand and at IHS Facilities in America. In 2007 Dr. Yosha completed an Obstetrics Fellowship training program for Family Physicians in Seattle, WA. He is credentialed in operative obstetrics and cares for common high risk perinatal conditions. His out-patient clinical work is based at Westside Health Services, a Community Health Center. His areas of interest include family planning, obstetrics, and underserved care. Dr. Yosha enjoys hiking, watching films, and spending time with his wife and young twin girls.
