Spectrum

Spectrum is the affinity group for LGBTQ+ and ally students at the University of Rochester School of Medicine & Dentistry (URSMD). Each year, Spectrum hosts a variety of events ranging from monthly potlucks, to educational seminars, to student-created and student-run initiatives related to LGBTQ+ health and wellness. Spectrum also helps facilitate LGBTQ+ mentorship between students and URMC faculty, as well as volunteer opportunities with the broader Rochester LGBTQ+ community.

The Rainbow Book is a student-written guide to LGBTQ+ life in Rochester and at URSMD. Sections include:

  • Where to Go
  • Health Resources & Non-Discrimination Policy

Leadership

Second year medical students are selected to lead Spectrum each year. Below are the current leaders and their contact information. You can also read more about them in the "Current Student Leadership" section of the Rainbow Book mentioned above. Feel free to reach out to any/all of these leaders with questions, comments, or whatever else is on your mind.
