Mindfulness Programs

Program Description and Information

Mindfulness is a way of being that emphasizes paying attention to experiences in a deliberate way, and without judgment. Mindfulness-based programs teach these skills via didactics, in-person practice, and assigned practice. Programs are run in group format and include practice exercises that focus on thoughts, experiences, and body sensations. Mindfulness-based programs are evidence-based and have been effective for people with chronic pain and varying levels of psychological distress.

The Rochester Regional Center for Autism Spectrum Disorders runs group-based mindfulness programs for community members.
