Front Office

Our Front Office staff are an essential part of our Primary Care, Outpatient/Ambulatory practices and Emergency Department. Often our patient’s first point of contact when seeking care, you’ll provide a warm welcome and support patient’s as they schedule appointments, and check-in/check-out at our offices. Many of our Front Office staff go on to grow their career in healthcare administration, with many career paths available throughout URMC.

Operating in a fast-paced environment, you’ll help patients with medical billing and support, process physician referrals, and register and schedule services. Candidates with one year or more of call center experience are preferred, with remote work opportunities available after six months of onsite training. Patient Care

As an Outpatient/Ambulatory Care Technician, you’ll support our providers and nurses with clinical tasks such as checking vitals, updating patient charts, on-site testing, specimen collection and room preparation across a variety of specialties—assisting with minor procedures at times. Technicians are important members of the UR Medicine team and you can gain vital experience to prepare you for a Nursing or Advanced Practice (PA/NP) program, as well as Medical School

Pharmacy

As part of the Department of Pharmacy, you’ll provide hands-on, patient-focused pharmacy services to inpatient hospital units, as well as to patients in the Rochester community. Pharmacy Technicians assist our pharmacists in the maintenance and distribution of medication. This role is a great way to begin a career in healthcare, with free on-the-job paid training available for qualified candidates.

Diagnostic/Imaging

The Department of Imaging is much more than X-rays—it sits at the forefront of medical imaging technologies critical to diagnosing patient issues and providing care. We offer a variety of specialties from emergency to pediatric, bone, abdominal, neurological and cardiovascular imaging, covering patients at Strong Memorial Hospital and across the Rochester community. As an Imaging Technologist, you’ll be producing high quality images, with a focus on quality, accuracy and customer service.
