Audience of people

The Center for Community Health & Prevention offers a series of FREE health talks called “Got Health?” to help community members get and stay healthy.

Got Health is provided in partnership with the University of Rochester Medical Center's (URMC) Health Equity Program Support Office, the Central Library of Rochester and Monroe County and the YMCA of Greater Rochester. The talks cover basic health information and are delivered in easy-to-understand language. In-person talks are offered throughout the year at the Maplewood Family YMCA and The Lewis Street YMCA Neighborhood Center locations.

Throughout the series, presenters from our Center, the URMC, and community organizations help to inform the community about health issues and highlight the link between research and community health improvement.

Please join us to learn more about many interesting health topics.

Upcoming Talks

Join us for our next Got Health talk, "Brain Health & Video Games," at 10 a.m. Tuesday, January 27 at the Maplewood Family YMCA (25 Driving Park Ave., Rochester).

Video games are fun, and research has shown they can improve brain functions like memory, attention, and decision-making in children. But what about older adults? Laura Robinson, MPH, program coordinator for the Finger Lakes Geriatric Education Center at the University of Rochester Medical Center, will explore the research and help you identify ways to build video games into your life.
