Health Equity in Progress

At University of Rochester Medicine, health equity means ever better for everyone regardless of any protected classifications. Our vision is to provide fair access to high-quality healthcare and the opportunity to achieve optimal health outcomes for all who entrust us with their lives.

The Center for Community Health & Prevention's Office of Health Equity Research and University of Rochester Medicine Clinical and Translational Science Institute are joining forces to introduce a “Health Equity in Progress” segment to ongoing Population Health Coordinating Collaborative (PHCC) meetings

Members of our health equity research networks and the rest of the University community are invited to participate in exciting updates on research being conducted to address healthcare challenges throughout our region, as well as offer opportunities to identify potential collaborators and facilitate greater partnership.

The bi-monthly PHCC meetings are expanding to include University of Rochester Medicine Health Equity Research Core Investigators (HERCI), who will present a series of “Health Equity in Progress” updates as a regular item on the agenda. The goal is to share the ongoing and developing work that individuals and teams are leading across health equity research, population health, and community engagement.

PHCC meetings have always been open to faculty, staff and trainees in research and education programs. By inviting HERCI members to present, we aim to establish a stronger platform for colleagues to network and collaborate on population health initiatives.

The 20 - 30 minute “Health Equity in Progress” segment will include a presentation from a HERCI member who is developing or implementing a project that aims to address one of the community-identified priority areas for research.
