How to Apply

CT1Applicants to the University of Rochester Medical Center (URMC) Therapeutic Medical Physics Residency Program must submit their materials through National Matching Services (NMS).

We encourage applicants who demonstrate strong academic preparation, professionalism, communication skills, and a commitment to clinical medical physics.

Eligibility Requirements

To be considered for the program, applicants must meet the following requirements:

  • Completion of a CAMPEP-accredited graduate program in medical physics
    OR
    Completion of a PhD in physics or a related field and a CAMPEP-accredited certificate program
  • Ability to begin residency on July 1 of the application year
  • Eligibility to work in the United States
    • The program currently supports TN, F1-OPT, and transfer H-1B visa

Application Materials

A complete application includes the following items submitted via NMS:

  • Curriculum vitae (CV)
  • Official graduate transcripts
  • Three letters of recommendation
  • Personal statement describing your interest in medical physics and career goals

Applications that are incomplete or submitted outside NMS cannot be considered.

Match Participation

Our program participates fully in the MedPhys Match. All applicants must register with the Match and submit their rank lists through NMS. Information about NMS and the Match is available on the CAMPEP and AAPM websites.
