General Surgery and Bariatric Surgery
West 6 is a surgical unit located on the sixth floor of Highland Hospital's west wing with private and semi-private rooms for patients who have had surgery. Nurses on the floor are experts in post-surgical care and work closely with physicians, physical therapists, social workers and other care givers who assist in the recovery process. Several rooms are tailored for bariatric patients who may need special accommodations.
Dedicated Inpatient Women’s Surgical Unit
Surgery places a lot of stress on both the body and mind. In the days following surgery it is important to have a comfortable, restful and encouraging place to recover. That’s why Highland Hospital created a floor just for women, where you will be cared for by a specialized team of nurses who truly understand your needs – both physical and emotional.
Health care providers specially trained in neurosurgery and neurology provide post-surgical and medical care for patients in a new inpatient unit at Highland. Patients with complex neurological conditions and patients of neurosurgery, spine surgery and head-and-neck surgery receive specialized care in an area designed for their needs. State-of-the-art equipment on the unit will allow doctors to measure patients for suspected seizures.
Our 14-bed Intensive Care Unit has state-of-the-art monitoring and diagnostic equipment plus a highly skilled compassionate heath care team specially trained to work with critically ill patients. Highland Hospital’s high standards for critical nursing care have been recognized with the prestigious Beacon Award for Critical Care Excellence.
