Research Opportunities

The Keane Vision & Psychosis lab occasionally has opportunities to conduct research. Please contact the Principal Investigator, Brian Keane for details.

Do you have a psychotic disorder or know somebody who has one?  Do you want to contribute to a scientific understanding of how psychosis impacts the brain and behavior?  If so, you can reach out to Jose Reynoso to learn.  Note that our studies involve no treatments or medications.

Job Opportunities

We are looking to hire someone full-time who can run psychosis patients and healthy controls through our ongoing federally-funded eye-tracking study with the Active Perception Lab at the University of Rochester.  The purpose of the study is to characterize fine-scale eye movements in psychosis and understand their contribution to impaired visual acuity and reading.  Experience with clinical populations is a plus but not required.

We are looking to hire a full-time lab programmer who will perform neuroimaging analyses using Matlab, Python, and shell scripting on the Linux-based cluster.  The purpose of these investigations is to understand the visual system and visually-oriented biomarkers of psychosis.  This position also involves to a lesser extent performing day-to-day lab activities and assisting with the analysis of eye-tracking or behavioral data.    We make every effort to get our lab members actively involved in ongoing research; as such, this position can be viewed as a stepping-stone toward graduate or professional school. Questions about the position may be directed to Jose Reynoso or the PI.  Please submit a CV and letter of interest, which includes contact information from three referees.  Please note that the job ad linked below is written very broadly and so applicants are encouraged to reach out with any questions.  The desired start date is July 1st.
