Overview
At the University Mental Health Practice (UMHP), we provide thoughtful, evidence-based mental health care to adults and families across the lifespan in a setting that blends the personalized attention of a private practice with the resources and expertise of an academic medical center. As the faculty practice of the Department of Psychiatry at the University of Rochester Medical Center, we are committed to clinical excellence, education, innovation, and collaboration.
Whether you are seeking individual therapy, medication management, couples or family therapy, or specialized care for chronic health conditions, pain, workplace stress, mood disorders, or reproductive, pregnancy, and postpartum mental health, our multidisciplinary team is here to support your goals and well-being. We provide both in-person and telehealth appointments to ensure flexible, accessible care tailored to your needs.
About Our Team
UMHP is a faculty-led practice made up of psychologists, psychiatrists, nurse practitioners, and social workers, all working together to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care. Our work extends beyond the therapy room — we engage in academic research and collaborate with referring providers and medical colleagues across URMC and the wider community.
We are deeply committed to serving patients of all backgrounds through a culturally responsive, trauma-informed lens and to ensuring that every patient feels seen, heard, and supported.
