About the Program

This 1-year fellowship provides advanced clinical and academic training in behavioral neurology. The majority of clinical time is spent in the Memory Care Program, a multidisciplinary clinic that brings together experts from psychiatry, behavioral neurology, neuropsychology, geriatrics, and psychology. Additional longitudinal clinical experiences include geriatric psychiatry, neuropalliative care, and movement disorders, offering fellows diverse exposure to complex neurobehavioral conditions.

Fellows have dedicated academic time that includes didactic lectures on cognitive and behavioral topics, a journal club, and an evidence-based medicine program. During this time, each fellow completes a quality improvement or research project, with the option to pursue projects that support an academic career trajectory. Those interested in research-focused careers are encouraged to apply for the Department of Neurology’s  Experimental Neurotherapeutics Fellowship, which offers a second fellowship year emphasizing clinical research skill development.

Eligibility Criteria: Applicants must have completed a U.S. or Canadian Neurology or Psychiatry Residency and are required to provide letters of completion from their residency programs.

Fellowship Completion: The fellowship is successfully completed upon fulfillment of the 1-year curriculum and demonstration of competency in clinical and scholarly activities.
