I was born and raised in Brooklyn, New York, and graduated with a BS in Healthcare Administration and a Master of Public Administration degree in 1993 from LIU-Post. After working for 8 years as a budgeting and contracting analyst, I decided to return to school for nursing, attending the Yale School of Nursing in 2000, completing an R.N. Certification in 2002, and earning an M.S.N. in Midwifery in 2003. I have worked as a staff nurse on mother-baby, antepartum/high-risk obstetric and labor and delivery units, in a private practice as a midwife, as well as in a hospital-based midwifery service.
In 2009, I relocated to The Poconos and became the first midwife to attend a birth at Pocono Medical Center, then I relocated back as a Director of MCH Nursing at Wyckoff Hospital. After working as a MCH Nursing and Midwifery Director in NYC hospitals, I relocated to Rochester, NY, and am now the Director of Midwifery at the University of Rochester Medical Center. I am also enrolled at the Yale School of Nursing where I will graduate with a Doctor of Nursing Practice degree in May 2019.
