Launch Momentum

Features

Momentum is a collection of services managed by Research IT, available to any user with URMC credentials within SMD. Many standard software packages are available, with the ability to analyze and manage data stored within SMDNAS shares.

Some of the included services:

• R Studio with BioConductor and Tidyverse
• SAS Studio
• Jupyter notebooks, with pre-configured GPU tools, like PyTorch and RAPIDS
• Gitlab
• Globus data transfer tool
• Specialized imaging packages, like Freesurfer and Amira
• Virtual Linux Desktop, with browser-based GUI access

Get Started

Use your URMC login credentials to access Momentum at https://momentum.urmc-sh.rochester.edu (Available on the URMC network or via Global Protect VPN). Each service contains information about the software, including a Launch button to get started.

Additional help documentation for the specific services can be found within the Momentum portal or by emailing the Office of Research IT.

Cost

Almost all of the underlying Momentum services are free to users. Those that have additional costs associated with them will be noted within their individual application service description pages.
