Flu Restrictions Page

General Visiting Hours

11:00 a.m. – 8:30 p.m.

Visitors are a very important part of the health care team and are welcome at St. James Hospital. We believe that the support of family and friends is vital to recovery. Yet, because rest is also important, we suggest that a patient have no more than two visitors at a time. Visitors are requested to leave by 8:30 p.m.

Visiting hours in some units vary:

12:00 p.m. – 8:30 p.m.

Emergency Room

One (1) visitor per patient.

*In a continued effort to protect and provide optimal health care to our patients and their family members and friends, please adhere to any additional posted visiting restrictions when public health concerns warrant (flu season, etc.).

Maintaining Quiet on the Floor

Out of respect for other patients on the floor, we request the help of our patients and their visitors in maintaining quiet on the unit. St. James observes “quiet time” throughout the entire facility every day between the hours of 2:30 – 4:30 p.m. and 1:00 – 3:00 a.m. During quiet time we ask staff, patients, and visitors to help minimize unnecessary noise such as phone usage, loud talking or TVs, use of doors, elevators and equipment, and bright lights. Having designated hours of quiet time gives patients a better opportunity for undisturbed sleep and rest, which is vital to healing. In regards to direct care, visitors may be asked to leave a patient room by a physician or nurse during examination or other procedures. We thank you for helping us maintain a quiet environment and preserve patient privacy.

Children under 14

Children under 14 years of age must be accompanied by an adult. Please do not leave children under 14 unattended in the hospital lobby.
