Conferences and Courses

Weekly and Monthly Conferences

OMFS Grand Rounds

Held weekly on Thursdays from 7:15 AM to 8:15 AM, and attended by all OMFS faculty and residents.

Narrowly defined topics will be assigned in an orderly fashion. In-depth research is required prior to and after the conference to achieve maximal learning. The presenter will be the program expert on that topic and the paper should be an authoritative resource for fellow residents.

The presentation must be detailed and references provided. Residents are to make a formal presentation as if it were at a national OMFS society meeting.

OMFS Resident Case Conference

Held weekly on Mondays from 4:30 PM to 6:00 PM.

OMFS residents will present planned or completed cases.

Journal Club

Held on the 2nd Monday of each month, immediately following the week's case conference.

Morbidity and Mortality Conference

Held on the 1st Monday of each month, during the resident case conference.

Tumor Board Conference

Occurs every Thursday evening, from 5:30 PM to 7 PM at the Wilmot Cancer Center.

OMFS residents are required to attend. Senior residents should be familiar with OMFS patients on the tumor board list and be prepared to present and discuss new cases and cases on treatment.
