URMC / Highland Hospital / Giving / Highland Hospital Gala / About About the Highland Gala The Highland Hospital Gala is the hospital’s annual fundraising event. For over ten years, community members and supporters have gathered to celebrate Highland Hospital and raise significant funds to help fund the hospital’s important programs and services. Each year, the gala includes a silent and live auction, lively entertainment, and impactful patient stories. Funds raised at the event will benefit an aggressive renovation and expansion project within the Highland Maternity Center. Specifically, they will be rebuilding the triage space where pregnant mothers are first seen by physicians and staff. Currently this space includes curtains, limited privacy, and little space for their partner, birth coach, or family member. The new triage bays will look more like traditional rooms, providing better space and privacy for patients and family members. The project also features the colocation of our well baby and special care nurseries. This newly designed space will provide additional privacy and space for mothers and family members to tend to their baby as they transition from advanced care to home. Additionally, the project improves the provider and administrative space to meet many of the needs of Rochester’s leading birthing program.
