Education

All faculty are expected to teach and to be highly skilled in doing so.  For those faculty members who would like to further develop their skills in education and educational leadership, we have several options available.  Please note that these activities are open to any interested faculty member!

Educator Development Forum

This group meets bimonthly to develop the knowledge and skills needed in education.  All are welcome to participate in this ongoing series and is required for recipients of the Ritchie Fellowship.  The sessions will be designed to further our learning about education and to also develop our educational community.  Sessions cover topics such as:

  • Educational Topics (didactics, workshops)
  • Small Group Discussions (for example, to problem solve challenges)
  • Mentoring for educators
  • Career development
  • Peer feedback and support for educational projects
  • Journal club for educational articles/classic articles

URMC Faculty Development

The URMC Faculty Development office also provides programs for further professional development.  These activities cross departments and are another way to meet and interact with faculty across the medical center.
