The Canandaigua VA Medical Center, part of VA Health Care New York VISN 2/3, provides numerous health care programs and services for older adults through its operations at the medical center and a community-based outpatient clinic in Rochester, NY.  The Canandaigua VAMC provides a full range of geriatric related health care programs and services focusing on dementia and palliative care, adult day health, community and home based primary care, domiciliary and community living center nursing home care.  Canandaigua VAMC is also home to the Center of Excellence for Suicide Prevention and the National VA Mental Health/Veteran’s Crisis Line Call Center.

Division of Geriatrics & Aging Faculty at the VA have been key contributors to the region’s geriatric education efforts through ongoing participation in medical student and geriatric fellowship training and telehealth geriatric education initiatives.  Division faculty also make significant contributions to VA program development and research.
