John R. Williams Health Sciences Library & Miner Library

The John R. Williams Health Sciences Library, now focused exclusively on services, including links to all of the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry's Miner Library Resources. Some resources on their extensive websites include:

1. A vast library catalog, with multiple journal subscriptions and resources such as the AAP Red Book and Hale's medications & mothers' milk
2. Individualized librarian services, including streamlined online literature search requests
3. Free access to multiple databases, many embedded in the EMR, including:

• UptoDate
• Cochrane            
• VisualDx
• Micromedex
• Natural Medicines
• Bibliography Managers Refworks and Endnote

Training for these and other resources is available in online tutorials or live sessions with library reference staff.

MedHub

MedHub, is used by the residency and the office of graduate medical education for multiple purposes:

• Evaluations — it prompts residents to choose who they worked with most to generate evaluation requests. It also allows residents and faculty to initiate on-the-fly evaluations of peers, supervisors and medical students.
• Documentation — allows residents to document procedures, as well as educational activities and presentations.
• Information — provides centrally located information such as details/instructions/resources for rotations, residency policies, and outlines for long term projects such as Areas of Concentration (AOCs). It is also used to document work hours to ensure that residents do not exceed New York State and ACGME work hours standards.
