Orthopedics & Sports Medicine
Orthopedics & Sports Medicine
Residents spend 8 weeks rotating with rural practitioners including experiences with general orthopedic surgery, sports medicine, hand surgery, and podiatry. There is a high volume of patients and procedures in these rotations. The sports medicine experience includes sideline coverage and training room/injury clinic for Division III collegiate sports teams.
The orthopedics and sports medicine experiences for residents are divided into two separate blocks during the first year and third year. There are also lectures, workshops, and opportunities to assist with event coverage over the course of the residency.
