Highland Hospital Tower Project Eyes Completion Summer 2023

Highland Hospital’s Patient Tower Project, a modernization effort that will enable the hospital to provide private rooms for nearly all patients, is drawing closer to completion. The tower will ensure that more private rooms are available for patient care and is adding to the existing hospital campus without the hospital having to expand its footprint.

Highland Provides Access to Health Care for Vulnerable Population

Highland Hospital’s inpatient medicine consult service for patients experiencing homelessness provides specialized care for some of Rochester’s most vulnerable. Mike Hudson, M.D., Highland Hospitalist, launched a consult service which focuses on the unique challenges of those experiencing homelessness. He worked with Highland leadership to create this initiative which takes a holistic approach to care for the homeless.

Highland Brings Palliative Care to the Southern Tier

Highland’s Palliative Care Division Chief Chin-Lin Ching, M.D., and Nicole Gise, M.D., Director of Highland’s Outpatient Palliative Care Clinic, and their team are now working with providers at Jones Memorial in Wellsville, St. James in Hornell, and Noyes in Dansville to offer palliative care services to patients.

New Medical Education Initiative Coming to Highland

A hospital-wide Improving Consultation initiative will soon be launched to prepare physician trainees to build best practice skills in consultation communication and facilitate optimal interdepartmental collaboration around acute patient care.
