Integrative Mitochondrial Physiology
The University of Rochester Mitochondrial Research and Innovation Group (MRIG) brings together laboratories with the common goal of understanding mitochondrial function to impact human disease. Our group studies mitochondria from all angles, bridging biophysics and biochemistry to integrative physiology and clinical outcomes.
We critically discuss the research from graduate students, postdoctoral associates and visiting scholars. We also discuss recent journal articles and conferences. MRIG is an excellent environment for trainees that is both rigorous and friendly to build the essential skills to carry out and present world-class mitochondrial research.
The models employed in our laboratories range from tissue culture and animal models (C. elegans, zebrafish, mouse, etc.) to clinical trials/human research.
Join us every Thursday, 9:00 am in the Fenn Room (URMC 4.6325). Our laboratories are always looking for new mitochondriacs!
