Visitors are welcome to use the library during regular operating hours. Library staff are available to assist visitors in locating print and electronic resources. Appointments are required to access materials in the History of Medicine Collection.

Visitors May:

• Use library public spaces.
• Access print materials within the library.
• Print and photocopy materials using self-service equipment (fees apply).
• Access library-owned and subscribed electronic resources while onsite.
• Use designated quick computing workstations.
• Connect to the University Guest Wi-Fi network.

Librarians will assist patients and patient family members with finding accurate and trustworthy health and wellness information.

Services Not Available to Visitors:

• Borrowing library materials for use outside the library.
• Remote access to subscribed electronic resources. Licensing agreements restrict remote access to current University of Rochester faculty, staff, and students but do allow visitors to access these resources while onsite, as noted above.
• Literature search services. Visitors conducting research are encouraged to use the free PubMed database or contact their institutional or public library for research assistance.
• Access to Computing Center resources.
• Interlibrary loan services. Visitors should place interlibrary loan requests through their institutional or public library.
