2027 Research in Health Equity Symposium

LaPrincess C. Brewer, MD, MPH, is a preventive cardiologist and Associate Professor of Medicine at Mayo Clinic. Her research advances cardiovascular health equity through community-engaged behavioral interventions, faith-based partnerships, and digital health tools designed to improve access for communities facing barriers to care. As principal investigator of the Cardiovascular Community Health Collaborative Laboratory, Dr. Brewer works alongside community partners to develop culturally responsive strategies that promote behavior change and community health. Her work reflects the 2027 symposium theme, Healing Communities, by centering authentic partnerships, community strengths, and equitable access to health resources.
