Laura Stamm, PhD is an Assistant Professor of Medicine and Health Humanities & Bioethics at the University of Rochester Medical Center where she also serves as Director of Community Engagement and Health Improvement for the Department of Medicine (DOM). In her role as the Director of Community Engagement and Health Improvement, she has developed DOM’s strategic plan for community outreach and engagement to increase community participation in research and clinical interventions. She is also the founder and organizer of the DOM Research in Healthy Equity Symposium. Dr. Stamm is a Health Equity Scholars for Action fellow with the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation and is passionate about community-based research methods. Her research focuses on the ethics of care provision and research with marginalized populations. Her work appears in various journals and media outlets, including Journal of Adolescent Medicine, Journal of Clinical and Translational Science, American Journal of Public Health, The Journal of Pediatrics, The Hill, and Bioethics Today.
