The Spiritual Care Department at St. James Hospital offers services to meet the spiritual and emotional needs of patients, clients, families, and staff.
The department strives to promote an atmosphere which is friendly to and supportive of the spiritual needs of all persons. A wealth of spiritual resources is available for times of uncertainty and change, as well as for times of thanksgiving and blessing.
On-call chaplains are available 24/7. Please contact a nurse or the switchboard if you would like to request a chaplain visit.
Chapel and Prayer Room
Patients, visitors, families, and staff are welcome to use the chapel and adjoining prayer room located on the second floor at any time.
Monthly Grief Support Group
Each year, community members, staff, and residents are invited to memorial services. A Grief Support group meets monthly at the hospital and is open to anyone in need of ongoing support after a loss.
On-call chaplains are available at any time for support and presence at times of crisis, death, or need. Please contact a nurse or the switchboard if you would like to request a chaplain visit. For emergencies outside of normal business hours, a chaplain may be reached by calling the switchboard operator and asking for the chaplain on call.
