The Finger Lakes Rural Immunization Initiative is a CDC initiative to address low vaccination rates in rural areas. The grant-funded program focuses on COVID-19 vaccine awareness, education, and increase in access for the 9-county Finger Lakes Region of Genesee, Livingston, Monroe, Ontario, Orleans, Seneca, Wayne, Wyoming and Yates. The FLRII team works closely with community partners, physicians, local health departments and other trusted messengers and collaborators on these efforts.
A toolkit has been created to help answer questions and engage trusted messengers to promote COVID-19 vaccination.
